Development of tourism in Kutch will change lives and economy of many families, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said while inaugurating the month-long Rann Utsav in Bhuj of Kutch district today.
This was a turnaround time for Kutch, a place which has faced negligence since long, Modi said during the inaugural function near Hamisar lake in Bhuj , an official release said.
Tourism industry does not only fetch foreign visitors but also serve as a source of daily bread for many poor families, he said.
Blooming tourism in Kutch would change the economy and lives of many families there, the Chief Minister added.
"Terrorism divides, while tourism unites the world," Modi said, asking the tourists present at the function to experience the beauty and power of boundless land of white desert in Kutch.
He further said that the slogan of the state tourism department "Kutch nahi dekha to Kuchh nahi Dekha" (If you have not seen Kutch, you have seen nothing) had captured the entire world in its magic, the release added.
As many as 42-art-groups with over 1500 artists dressed in traditional attire demonstrated their skills on the occasion. Eleven foreign delegates were also present during the function, the release said.
