KAKA'S VISION OF VIDYA MANDIR
Kaka's view of education was truly grand and not restricted to construction   of college buildings only. What he had visualized was a full fledged educational campus with all the modern facilities and an educational environment. That is explained by Kaka's decisions to bring more of his hard earned resources and constructing staff quarters like Krishna Prem, Prabhu Chhaya, Nav Prabha and S V Kutir. This shows how much Kaka cared for the people who work in this campus. Not stopping with this Kaka constructed hostels for girls and boys, to take care of sports and cultural activities Kaka got on stadium and an excellent auditorium built.

The versatile personality of Kaka was obvious from some other decisions which Kaka took and committed more resources to those projects. He inspired and brought funds for Tolani Kala Niketan (an arts center) in 1980 and Tolani Eye Hospital and Research Center in 1982. This hospital was state of the art hospital. Today the whole campus at Adipur- fondly called Vidya Mandir (Temple of Education), is spread over 43 acres of land and occupies an important place on the educational map of western India. This campus today provides education to over 5000 students from all over Gujarat and even many students from outside Gujarat. Kaka's contribution to development of higher education in India, can be considered a very significant contribution by an INDIVIDUAL. One ex vice chancellor of Gujarat University once wrote that Kaka was a modern Jagdushah of Kutch. Jagdushah was a legendary Kutchee philanthropist. What Kaka did with his time, energy and hard earned money for the higher education was solely due to Kaka's conviction that education liberates man. It also shows that a single individual can achieve great things if he/she takes it upon him/herself. Kaka had taken it upon himself such task. The result is we have Vidya Mandir toady at Adipur. After Kaka's passing away in 1988 the spirit of providing good quality education has remained with Tolani family and the educational society has been managing all the institutions efficiently since then. Kaka P S Tolani and his family, with their own earnings, have built institution after institution in this remote region over a period of 35 years, and today about 5000 students are getting a higher education in these colleges. These institutions also employ more than 100 teaching staff members and 150 other staff members. So far, thousands of students have acquired degrees and diplomas from these institutions and have achieved great successes in professional fields and business and are all contributing to the development of the Indian economy and society
