KutchKala

KutchKala...Art from the Deserts of India
The district of Kutch (Gujarat, India) is globally renowned for its exquisite handicraft. The region is located in the northern part of Gujarat, India. The ethnic community of this region specialise in different forms of textile-based handicraft like hand embroidery, tie-dye, weaving block printing etc. The rural population lives in small communities in various hamlets known locally called Bhungas (round mud houses). These bhungas are built around a courtyard and are colorfully decorated with beautiful hand-embroidered wall hanging, locally produced pottery with lime paste and mirror work decoration.
